Another profitable year for Ainscough
UK crane rental company Ainscough has released its results for the year to the end of September 2024.
The company has not provided the full accounts, and they are unlikely to go live on Companies House until tomorrow, or most likely after Easter. But in the meantime, we do have the key numbers.
Total revenues for the year to the end of September was four percent higher at £121.9 million, while pre-tax profit increased almost 49 percent to £11.28 million. Over the year the company spent £26 million on fixed assets, including a £24.5 million investment on new cranes.
The company statement said: “The improved trading performance followed a number of years of disrupted trading, initially due to Covid 19, the current climate has provided a more stable environment and supported further investment in the crane fleet.”
Chief executive Peter Gibbs added: “The UK construction market continues to be a challenging environment in which to operate. However, Ainscough’s relentless focus on safety and service provides a compelling offer for those customers operating to the highest standards. We continue to re-invest our profits into the latest crane models, offering greater levels of capability and flexibility to satisfy the needs of our customers. All of this is only possible because of the depth of experience and training of our people, whose positive engagement resulted in inclusion in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work for the first time this year.”
Vertikal Comment
As stated we are waiting for the full accounts to be posted, but until then they look very positive, and are encouraging for the industry as a whole. Yes it has been a long time coming but, this is the second year in profit, while revenues have increased by more than 36 percent since 2021, no mean feat in the UK crane rental industry.

A comment from 2020:
"So the UKs market leading crane hire company is now run by a marine scientist, somebody that worked for a gearbox and bike chain company and a baker?? This should be fun to watch lol"
Turns out the Baker knew what he was doing 👍🏻
They abound
"...the depth of experience and training of our people, whose positive engagement resulted in..."
If only I could work for a company who could state that without crossing their fingers!
Great reputation for Ainscough.
