Liebherr to increase crane prices

At a hand over ceremony for the recent 37 unit crane order from Ainscough, Hans Georg Frey, Geshäftsführer of Liebherr Ehingen, stated that the company was implementing a new price increase on its mobile cranes to cover further increases in the costs of raw materials such as steel and tyres. The increase will vary depending on the model and will be strictly limited to passing on the actual cost increases in each model type. Frey would not speculate on an average percentage increase saying that it might be one, two, three, four or five percent depending on how much steel and rubber is used on that model.

Frey pointed out that while this was no the first price increase this year, Liebherr had absorbed some the cost increases this year, but could not continue to do so. In terms of sales revenues he said that “2004 will be Ehingens second best year ever, and would come close to the company’s best year ever of 2001.

One of 30 Liebherr LTM 1055-3.1 sold to Ainscough

The best selling model this year will be the LTM1055-3.1 as purchased by Ainscough with around 200 units shipped. Frey was speaking at Liebherr UK’s new Greenfield distribution centre in Biggleswade Bedfordshire.
