Palfinger buys Russian crane company
Austrian based loader crane and aerial lift manufacturer Palfinger has acquired Russian based specialist loader crane manufacturer Inman (Ischimbajskie Neftianiye Manipuliatory, JSC).
Inman was founded in 1992 and is based in Ishimbay in the Republic of Bashkortostan (Volga region). It employs 415 and expects to generate revenues of around €20 million this year. The company both manufactures and distributes hydraulic lifting and loading systems, mostly knuckle boom cranes destined for the Oil & Gas sector.

An Inman knuckle boom
Inman operates two production facilities and offers a range of services, including the complete certification of equipment for the Russian market and a full parts and service support programme.
Palfinger chief executive Herbert Ortner said: “We were looking for a well-established and reliable partner based in the CIS area in order to establish local value creation. Inman is a manufacturer of premium, reliable products and has a very strong and long-standing brand name. Its product portfolio is the perfect addition to the Palfinger’s products. Its good market position allows us in particular to open up the Ural region”.
Inman will remain as a separate brand within the Palfinger group. The acquisition is subject to the approval of the Supervisory Boards of both parties and the Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Russian Federation (FAS).

A smaller model from the Inman range
Palfinger has been working hard to expand its coverage of the Russian market and now has a total of 50 dealers on both sides of the Urals. This latest move takes this strategy to a new level.
