Another city crane for PP Engineering

UK based crane rental company PP Engineering of Kilnhurst, Rotherham, has taken delivery of its sixth Terex city type All Terrain crane, a 40 tonne AC40.

The new crane joins two existing AC40’s, two AC30’s and an AC25 in a predominately Terex fleet of 20 cranes operating within a 100-mile radius of South Yorkshire.

The new AC40 has a 31.2 metre main boom, which can be extended to 46 metres with the on-board swingaway extension. The crane has also been supplied with an extra 1.2 metre ‘runner’ for lifts of up to 15 tonnes in sites with restricted headroom. The crane was recently sent into a typical application for the runner, involving the installation of new printing pressed for the Hull Daily Mail.

The AC40 is an ideal unit for internal lifting

Terex regional manager Andrew Snow said: “The City crane is ideally suited to industrial applications. The AC40 has the capability to work free on wheels, and with a horizontal boom position represents a compact and versatile lifting solution.”

PP owner Phil Patching added: “Installing overhead cranes in factories, workshops and warehouses is an important part of our business, so the low clearance height afforded by our City cranes is a great advantage. Their ability to work on difficult terrain is a also a big plus ”
