Dangling in Birmingham
Spotted at Birmingham airport, in the UK, last week, workmen putting up London Olympics promotional signs on a building.
Rather than using the any form of powered access, whomever planned the job elected to ignore all of the health & safety advice and hierarchy of methods in favour of using abseilers to install the letters.
While the photos are not good enough for us to see for ourselves, our contributor says that it looked as though abseiler's cables were attached to the balcony which hardly seems appropriate?

Three men using an access method that is almost certainly not the safest or most efficient for the task
Surely this was not the safest method of working at height for this job? It certainly would not have been the cheapest or most efficient. Especially as the three had to carry the sticky material with them and move in two dimensions to install the message.

A closer look
In spite of the likelihood that these three knew exactly what there were doing and were professionals, the fact that there were safer alternatives available, tempts us to put this photo into our Death wish series, even if it is borderline.
