Going back in time

A reader in the London area sent some photos taken a couple of weeks ago on a site in Barnes, South West London where they were pouring concrete.

In his words: “Back to the 70's/80's - this site is in Barnes s/w London, a definite death wish a total disregard to any health & safety measures.”

With all the talk and safety awards that the construction industry hands out, here we are in London, capital of the most safety conscious country in the world – if you listen to major contractors – in 2012 and this contractor and his men appear totally oblivious to working at height regulation or the risks involved in working in this way. It is mind boggling!!
