CTE incorporates Sequani
Italian based access specialist CTE has merged its production business in a corporate reorganisation that sees Sequani Meccanica incorporated into CTE SpA.
The Sequani facility is located in Rivoli Veronese and the changes are largely administrative, simplifying the group’s corporate structure. Management and commercial functions, including marketing remain unchanged at CTE headquarters in Rovereto.
The two companies started working together in 1997, when CTE began manufacturing aerial work platforms. Since then the two companies have produced around 6,000 platforms, including truck mounts and spider lifts. The company expects to build a total of 1,000 lifts at the Verona plant this year.
Sequani Meccanica was established in the early 1980's to produce cranes. More recently the Rivoli, Veronese facility has become the main production centre for CTE. And now produces the ZED truck-mounted articulated platforms, B-Lift truck-mounted telescopics and MP model and Traccess spider lifts.
Vertikal Comment
This is one more step in the restructuring of CTE into a simpler more efficient corporate structure. While it should have little impact on end customers, it will save administration costs for the company and make for a more solid clearer entity.
It might also be a sign of the economic changes and restructuring currently going on in Italy. Business and tax regulation has in the past almost encouraged groups to stay corporately fragmented as a collection of smaller entities. Perhaps this is now changing in favour of clarity, simplicity and efficiency?
