Thai Death Wish

An Australian based reader who spent the holidays in Thailand spotted a man working at height who clearly has a Death Wish.

It is not entirely clear whether the man in the picture is working or just up to no good, but his lack of safety and concern is obvious. He is balancing on the narrow ledge and using the foliage to steady himself. There is absolutely no fall protection or safety measures in place to prevent him falling from a height of around 10 metres to the roof which is visible in the picture or who knows how much further to the pavement/sidewalk below.

Our reader, an equipment operator for an access company, jokingly sent the picture back to his safety, training and technical manager explaining how he had found a “safety contact” for the company’s upcoming operational safety meeting – unfortunately the only contact this man is likely to make will be with the ground below!
