Aboriginal Terex crane

Western Australia's first fully aboriginal/indigenous owned lifting company, Koodaideri Contracting Services, has purchased a new 25 tonne Terex Mac 25 articulated pick & carry crane.

The company focuses on the Mining, rail and construction industries and offers additional contracting services. The versatility and road travel ability of the ‘Franna’ crane ideally suited the company which has only recently been established.

Managing director, Peter Todd, said: "As we were just becoming established we didn't want to go too big, too soon so we decided on a Terex MAC 25 because it was the right size for our needs. With mobility as the primary requirement, we spent some time investigating the different cranes available in the market. We work on construction sites and in mines with rough tracks and we needed a crane with the manoeuvrability to get to any of the lifting sites.”

“There is a lot of work in the gas pipeline construction business at the moment and we see great potential for a crane of this size in our market. The mining companies are used to seeing these 25 tonne cranes on site, so there is an expectation of us being able to deliver performance with this crane. Being able to get the job done on time and within budget means a lot to this business.”
