Spider in Parliament

A 30 metre Omme spider lift has been lifted into Finland’s Parliament building (Eduskuntatalo) in Helsinki to carry out a building inspection prior to renovation work commencing.

Up she goes the 30m Omme lift is lifted into Finland's parliament building

The lift of the building, which was opened in 1931, was too small even for the ultra-narrow spider lift, so a six axle Liebherr All Terrain crane was brought in from Havator to lift it over the roof and into one of the three courtyards that the machine, an Omme 3000RBD rented from Ramirent, will work in.

The spider was lifted to a height of 30 metres
