Alliance Rentals joins Ahern
US based Ahern Rentals has acquired Alliance Rental, of Dahlonega, Georgia, owners Rusty Kaylor and Russ Stear have joined the Ahern Rentals business.
Ahern has acquired most of the assets of Alliance which acts as rental business and runs a JLG training centre at its Georgia base, which is around 60 miles from Atlanta.
Alliance Rental works on large projects, setting up onsite aerial lift rental operations, with at least one full-time service engineer based on each site. Examples include a new Michelin plant in Starr, South Carolina, a new Volkswagen facility in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Kaylor has been involved in the access industry since 1977, becoming the JLG distributor for Georgia, East Tennessee and Florida in 1984. His Reach Tennessee and Reach Florida rental operations were sold to BPS and Aggregate and were absorbed into Sunbelt Rentals.
One interesting aspect of his career is that in 1986 Reach Atlanta began manufacturing the Alpha Lift scissor lift range, apparently producing over 5,000 units before it ceased production. This experience will clearly be of interest, given Don Ahern’s acquisition of Snorkel.
