Terex success at Vertikal Days
Terex Cranes booked a record number of orders at this year’s Vertikal Days, to customers from Northern Scotland to Cornwall.
Orders placed at the event included a 40 tonne AC 40 City for Nottinghamshire-based McGovern Crane Hire, which bought its first Terex crane in 2006 and will shortly take delivery of a ‘220 tonne class’ Explorer 5800. The AC40 City is scheduled for August.

McGovern’s Eddie McGovern said: “Terex offers a complete package for the rental sector which is why we continue to invest in our Terex fleet. We look forward to putting the Explorer 5800 to work. It replaces an AC200-1 that has proved to be an excellent workhorse. With its compact dimensions and ability to telescope heavy loads, the additional AC40 City will help satisfy the increasing demand for this type of versatile crane.”
Another company taking an Explorer 5800 is Las Plant based of Inverness, Scotland, its largest cranes so far. Richard Murray of Las Plant said: “We chose the Explorer 5800 as a further commitment to our growing relationship with Terex Cranes. We have a broad range of Terex products throughout our business and see the further benefits to us from choosing their cranes and customer support.”

Meanwhile Plymouth-based Lifterz Cranes purchased a four axle 100 tonne AC100/4L All Terrain crane at Vertikal Days as part of its fleet expansion programme. Lifterz director Patrick Leoni-Sceti said: “Our three other Terex cranes have performed well, been extremely reliable and have met, and in many cases exceeded, our expectations. We therefore had no hesitation in placing a new order at Vertikal Days.”
