First Genie SX-180 in Sweden

Swedish access and lifting company Kranpunkten has taken delivery of one of Europe’s first 180ft Genie SX-180 boom lifts.

The platform, which offers working heights of over 56 metres, was officially handed over to Kranpunkten’s purchasing manager Rikard Jönsson last week by Thomas Anderson, Genie sales manager for Sweden at the Kranpunkten head-office in Förslöv.

The new lift joins a fleet of over 2,400 aerial lifts, telehandlers and mini cranes, operating from six locations in Sweden.

“We are extremely excited to receive this new super boom, and are very proud to be the first one in Sweden to own one and give our customers the chance to open the door to new application opportunity’s”: said Jönsson. “It has many outstanding features that really impressed us. It’s going to be a great addition to our fleet.”

“For us, one of its strongest benefits is its ability to be driven at full height without needing to retract and redeploy the boom each time they move, this is an efficiency that will save operators a lot of time. Comparatively speaking, for a machine offering a horizontal reach of 24.4 metres, it has very compact dimensions. I look forward to working with Genie further and seeing how my customers get along with the SX-180. I am intrigued to hear their feedback when it gets on site.”
