New technical director for FLGS
FLG Services (Fairview Liftging Gear), the lifting equipment sales and rental specialist division of A-Plant/Ashtead, has appointed Tony Longmire as technical director.
His responsibilities include developing and extending the Service Centre network, training and developing personnel, liaising with suppliers and identifying new product ranges, enhancing management systems and processes, developing apprentices and leading the drive for technical excellence.

Tony Longmire
Longmire joins the company from Balfour Beatty where he was senior authorising engineer – lifting, with primary responsibility for setting policy and standards in relation to lifting operations. Prior to that he worked at Speedy for 10 years as commercial director Speedy Lifting and then operations director of Speedy Engineering.
Before that he was technical director at Lifting Gear Hire for eight years. He has also been a member of the executive board and technical committee of the LEEA (Lifting Equipment Engineers Association).

I worked very closely with Jeff Hudson, director of FLG Services, during my time with Lifting Gear Hire so it is great to be able to work together once more. With the corporate backing from A-Plant, I am looking forward to helping drive the business forward,” said Longmire.
Hudson added: “Tony is a fantastic addition to the FLG Services team and can make an immediate impact. He has a wealth of knowledge and expertise in lifting operations and the wider hire market, which will really benefit our team. His experience with the LEEA spanned 15 years and really does demonstrate the esteem in which he is held throughout the lifting industry.”
