Jost Engineering Austria closes (updated)

Jost Engineering (Austria) a company established by Franc Jost is now being closed and liquidated as part of a hand over of the crane businesses he founded. However, he will remain in his position as technical director for Jost Cranes and continue to support the technical department.

The main Jost business based in Bavaria, Germany that introduced the hydraulic luffing jib tower crane is unaffected by the announcement

Jost Cranes was also founded by Franc Jost to build a range of flat top and luffing jib cranes. In 2011 it sold the rights to some of its flat top cranes to Zoomlion - see: Zoomlion acquires Jost designs

Alexander Jost of Jost Cranes has told Vertikal.net that the Jost Cranes continues to build and support its luffing jib cranes and is confident of the long term prospects for the business.
