Stirnimann takes on Potain in Austria
Stirnimann the long-time Potain and Grove distributor for Switzerland, has added Austria to its Potain territory.
Taking over from Laurer Baumaschinen, Stirnimann currently has a rental depot in Graz and has recently opened new offices and a workshop in Trumau, south of Vienna. Headed by Thierry Lord, Istok Kutos will be responsible for sales and rentals in Vienna, while Alfred Noisternig will cover the Styria and Carinthia regions. Hannes Dattinger will handle customer services and Andreas Ratchini has been appointed managing director. It will now be responsible for developing and strengthening the presence of Potain products in Austria.
Klaus Kröppel, Manitowoc's vice president of sales for central and eastern Europe, said: “The extensive history of our relationship with Stirnimann has seen many successes and we have developed an excellent partnership. The combination of its experience, its sales and service network and our advanced products positions us well to develop our presence in the Austrian market.”

Stirnimann is now the exclusive dealer for Potain tower cranes in Austria
Founded in 1915, the Swiss company started out as a small time manufacturer and has distributed Potain in Switzerland since 1986 and Grove cranes since 1969. The company also runs a large tower crane rental fleet and is the JLG distributor for Switzerland. It will now be responsible for developing and strengthening the presence of Potain products in Austria.
