First 5800s in Switzerland

Swiss crane rental and heavy haulage company Welti-Furrer has taken delivery of the first two 220 tonne Terex Explorer 5800 All Terrain cranes in Switzerland.

The five axle 5800 features a 70 metre main boom with a bi-fold swingaway and a 12 metre straight insert, offering a maximum tip height of 103 metres. Featuring a single engine concept, the new cranes will be used to erect and dismantle tower cranes as well as building concrete structures.

Welti-Furrer branch manager Amos Dubacher, said: “We’re in the process of upgrading our fleet, and adding these two Explorer 5800 units will ensure that we’ll be on the cutting edge of technology.”

Based in Windisch, Welti-Furrer provides a range of All Terrain, crawler, self-erecting tower cranes and loader cranes with lifting capacities from 30 to 600 tonnes. It has also recently ordered two Terex AC350/6 All Terrain cranes, which it plans on taking delivery next month.
