Huisman opens Brazilian facility
Dutch based heavy lift and offshore specialist Huisman has opened its production facility in Navegantes, Brazil.
Located along the Itajai-Açu river, the 15,000 square metre production facility will manufacture and install Huisman equipment on sea-going vessels. A new painting facility, warehouse and test pedestal is also currently under construction.
Huisman chief executive Joop Roodenburg, said: “The decision to open a production facility in Brazil is a logical answer to the great Brazilian equipment demand. Being able to produce our equipment locally provides us and our clients with an important competitive advantage. We have proven being capable building factories at green field locations. In China we are currently, successfully building cranes, pipe-laying towers as well as drilling equipment.”
