NCSG acquires B&G

Canadian crane group NCSG Crane & Heavy Haul has acquired 100 percent of the outstanding shares in B&G Crane Holdings, which was acquired by The Sterling Group in 2010 – see: Sterling buys B&G.

B&G is one of the largest suppliers of crane services, specialised rigging, and heavy haulage in Louisiana and Texas. Founded in New Orleans by the Grilletta family in 1946, the business is still family run. Gawain Grilletta, Rich Haggard, Trip Grilletta and Xavier Grilletta, Jr will all remain on the B&G management team and continue to run the business on a day to day basis as well as becoming shareholders in NCSG.

B&G vice-chairman Xavier Grilletta, said: “I am proud of the business we have built, and I believe that NCSG has similar values for building and running a customer focused business. We intend to continue our long history of safely providing outstanding customer service.”

NCSG president Ted Redmond, added: “B&G is a great business with a proud history of providing outstanding service to its many customers in Texas and Louisiana and the current B&G management team plans to continue to run the business and carry on with that tradition. We believe that the combination of B&G and NCSG is a significantly more diversified business that will allow us to get better overall asset utilisation as we can share our project and maintenance cranes across a more diverse set of end markets.”

NSCG was founded in 1987 and is owned by an investor group led by TriWest Capital. Over the last nine years the company has acquired 12 companies and grown to become one of the largest crane and heavy haul companies in North America. Its fleet consists of more than 295 cranes, 259 lines of hydraulic platform trailers/SPMTs, more than 400 conventional trailers and specialised rigging equipment.
