Speedy raises £5,000 for charity
UK rental company Speedy has raised more than £5,000 for the WellChild charity after eight of its employees completed the London Marathon, last Sunday.
The company also sponsored WellChild’s team of 140 runners, which is expected to raise more than £260,000 for the charity which provides care and support for thousands of children and their families in the UK living with a long-term or complex health condition.
Wendy Bates, Speedy’s innovation and client experience director, said: “This is my 16th marathon and was one of my favourite races because it was a true team effort to raise vital funds for such a deserving charity. We look forward to working with WellChild over the coming year and will continue to raise as much money as possible.”
Steve Williams, WellChild challenge event manager, added: “This is our second year in partnership with Speedy and we are extremely grateful for all of the team’s hard work and their ongoing fundraising efforts. Team Speedy is wonderful to work with and nothing is ever too much trouble, and we look forward to working with them in the future.”
