Brazilian crane and heavy transport company Guindastes Tatuapé has taken delivery of a 110 tonne Liebherr LTM 1110-5.2 All Terrain, the first crane in Brazil to be equipped with the new Liccon3 control system.
The five axle crane features a seven section, 60 metre main boom, topped by a 10.8 to 19 metre bifold swingaway extension that can be offset by up to 40 degrees. Two extra inserts can be added between boom nose and extension to provide a maximum tip height of 96 metres. The crane will be used predominately within the oil, gas, industrial and mining sectors.
Sales manager Marcelo Monteiro said: “The Liccon3 system is intuitive to use, offers fast response times and better visualisation thanks to its large display. The 60 metre boom achieves tremendous lifting heights, which makes the use of larger and more expensive models of crane unnecessary. The LTM 1110-5.2 is therefore the ideal solution for efficient lifting operations and allows us and our customers to save money.”
“The crane can also travel with it a lot of ballast roads without needing an additional vehicles, this is another point that helps to reduce costs.”
Guindastes Tatuapé is based in São Paulo with a branch in the state of Espírito Santo and has been active in the Brazilian market for more than 60 years, providing crane rental and special haulage services. It runs a 400 unit equipment fleet which includes mobile and crawler cranes, aerial work platforms, knuckle boom cranes and telehandlers, with around 400 employees.
