Valla for Mitas Tires

Mitas Tires North America, the US subsidiary of off-road tyre specialist Mitas, has taken delivery of a Valla 250E pick & carry crane.

The 25 tonne 250E has a four section boom and can lift up to seven tonne to a height of approximately 10 metres. Maximum radius, with boom horizontal is seven metres, at which it can handle a four tonne load. Joining a nine tonne 90E pick & carry purchased in 2011, the 250E will be used for handling tyre moulds and for general maintenance throughout the plant in Charles City, Iowa.

Gerald Edgar, Mitas Tires environmental health and safety manager Iowa, said: “For decades, Valla has been the brand of choice for our sister plants in Europe, which is why, when they located this first ever Mitas plant outside of Europe, they specified a Valla crane for us. None of us had ever heard of the brand before, but now anyone who comes to our plant can see two in action.”
