First Potain MCT 205 in Vietnam
The first Potain MCT 205 topless tower crane in Vietnam has been installed at the formwork plant of Forming Universal Vietnamese Innovations (FUVI) in Ho Chi Minh City
The new crane has been configured with a 1.6 metre back mast, 60 metre jib and and under hook height of 38.4 metres. It has a maximum capacity of around five tonnes and will be used inside FUVI’s facility to transfer pallets of form-work from the production line to the storage yard and to load and unload trucks. It will also be for live demonstrations to show customers how the company’s form-work system operates.
Established in 1994, Forming Universal Vietnamese Innovations (FUVI) is one of the regions leading designer and manufacturer of formwork products for the construction industry. It has purchased the MCT 205 to replace forklifts that were previously used to transfer and stack pallets in the yard.

Fuvi’s director of sales and engineering Cai Minh Giac said: “The topless design makes the MCT 205 ideal for use at our factory. The crane was easy to set up and we are very pleased with its performance so far. It has made moving pallets much faster and we’ve been able to clear more space in the stock yard because we can stack pallets in taller vertical stacks rather than on the ground. It also allows us to load trucks directly for shipment.”
The Potain MCT 205 is manufactured at its Zhangjiagang factory in China and was sold and will be supported by Hanoi based Potain distributor Minh Chi Co. (MNC).
