Fire in the platform

A man was trapped on the top of a large sign on Wednesday, in Anderson, South Carolina after the bucket type platform he was working in caught fire.

Then man, Kevin Putman, 44, was working on the sign outside of a Dominos Pizza location, and using a cutting torch to carry out work on the sign.

All of a sudden the bucket caught fire and he made a swift exit and climbed to the top of the sign and hung on waiting for help.

The local fire department put the fire out and then used their rescue platform to bring him down.

He was apparently unaware of the fire initially but felt heat at his back, turned around and saw that a fire had started on the controls. He was unhurt – apart perhaps from his pride?
