The driver of the car, a 35 year old female, was driving through the Cholfirsttunnel in Schaffhausen/Flurlingen towards Winterthur, at around 23:15 when she ran into a stationary Skyjack SJ8341 scissor lift, from which two men were working on the tunnel roof.

The driver and the two men on the platform were all taken to hospital
From photos of the incident it doesn't look like there was any cordoning-off of the lift, although we understand that the tunnel, which takes the A4/E41 under the city, was supposed to have been closed in this direction at the time the incident occurred in order for maintenance work to be carried out.
As to those injured, the two men working on the scissor lift and the driver, are seriously hurt.
