Carlo Cavecchi joins Hertz
Hertz has appointed Carlo Cavecchi as vice president specialty rental, reporting to chief operating officer Bruce Dressel.
Cavecchi will head up the existing Hertz Equipment speciality product areas including: Pump, Energy Services, HVAC and Industrial Small Tools, and will also be responsible for expanding into additional solutions based speciality areas.
Cavecchi joins Hertz from Ally Onsite - a specialised equipment and on-site services provider to the emergency restoration and oil field industries – where he has been chief executive since 2007.
He started out in the rental business at HSS UK, in 1985 and relocated from the UK to Florida around 1995 to head up the group's push into the US market which began in with a pilot operation in Florida, and then moved up a gear with the acquisition of RentX in Denver, Colorado, ending up with 70 locations in 14 states. In 2005 he moved to Home Depot in Chicago, where he helped develop its small tool and light equipment rental business, before moving on to Ally Onsite 2007.
