Stavdal chooses Genie support
Swedish rental company Stavdal has appointed Genie Service Solutions to handle its aftermarket service support and has equipped 300 of its aerial work platforms with Trackunit and SmartID fleet management systems.
The company has also invested in a large number of new telematics ready Genie scissor lifts and boom lifts and has chosen the manufacturer’s planned maintenance option, providing parts, labour, regular 30-day in-service checks, as well as six monthly or annual service visits dependent on model and power source.
Stavdal chief executive Mikael Olsson said: “It is fantastic to be able to check battery charge, help ensure that only trained operators use the equipment thanks to the ID card, and know that the alarms and remote disabling function help deter and prevent theft. Better still, since the Track and Trace system provides us access to the key information we need, it makes it much easier and efficient to identify technical problems and follow-up rapidly by sending the right person on-site with the right tools and parts.”

Genie Service Solutions will provide its aftermarket service support to Stavdal
Matt Skipworth, Genie Service Solutions manager, added: “GSS provides exactly the kind of service offering that rental businesses are looking for to meet the challenges of today’s tough European market. As our customers are well-aware, with aerial work platforms there can be no shortcuts in terms of maintenance, inspection and certification. With the introduction of Stage IIIB engines and more features in the near future, even higher-level skills will be required to maintain the next generation of machines correctly."
