Versalift pick-up type approval

Versalift UK has obtained European community whole vehicle type approval on its 13.3 metre Isuzu D-Max mounted LAT135-H, with the ability to also obtain an IVA approval.

The type approval covers the addition of the Versalift aerial work platform to the pick-up, along with it being up-rated to 3,500kg on off-road tyres. The LAT135-H has a working height of 13.3 metres, an outreach of 6.1 metres and a 230kg platform capacity. Its boom stow mechanism allows for entry into the platform from both the chassis and ground level. Additional options include certified LV insulation, earth bonding and chapter 8 compliance.

Versalift sales director Andy Bray, said: “After consultation with our utility customers, we can offer real innovation with this new platform. Our new short front radial outriggers exert far lower stresses upon the vehicle chassis than conventional ‘A’ Frame, whilst addressing the misconception that the outrigger spread is increased, but also improve stability whilst working at height. The low travel height has significantly improved the driving experience, both on and off road.”

Versalift UK is also in the process of obtaining type approval on the up-rated Toyota Hilux single cab pick-up.
