Verticaaldagen in a new format
This year’s Dutch access and lifting event Verticaaldagen was certainly different from prior years, having combined with two existing construction events in Gorinchem.
Previously held at the Beekse Bergen Safari Park in Hilvarenbeek, the event is now located on a 12,000 square metre site to the rear of the Evenmentenhal exhibition centre, which is being shared with local construction events Bouw Compleet and Interieurbouw.
Although visitor numbers seemed to be a tad on the low side, this might have more to do with the show being spread over three days – as opposed to its usual two – and due to the erratic weather Gorinchem has suffered from over the past couple of days. That being said, the majority of exhibitors were optimistic – despite the weather – and the mood was very positive, with a good number of ‘decision makers’ serious about purchasing, leading to plenty of orders being placed during the event.

The range of equipment on display was also impressive with no lack of big machines, including a 180ft Genie SX-180 boom lift, a 90 metre Palfinger P900 truck mount, a 90ft Holland Lift HL-330 E14 scissor lift, a five tonne/35 metre Magni RTG5.35 telehandler and a 7.5 tonne Jekko SPX1275CDH tracked spider crane. There were also a good proportion of recently launched machines on show as well as the world premiere of Omega's new tracked boom lift. Chinese aerial work platform manufacturer Runshare also used the show to launch its new European subsidiary Runshare Europe. Based in Bergeijk, the Netherlands, it will be responsible for the import and distribution of Runshare scissor lifts as well as its articulated and telescopic boom lifts throughout Europe.
Below is a ‘brief’ picture review of the show, with further coverage on certain products to follow either on Vertikal.net or in the next issue of Cranes & Access.
