New Dingli 13ft micro scissors

Dingli, the leading Chinese aerial lift manufacturer has announced the introduction of upgraded 13ft self-propelled micro scissor lifts, the JCPT0607DCI and JCPT0607DCS, which will replace the current JCPT0607DC which has been in production since 2013.

The two new models are almost identical, apart from the fact that the JCPT0607DCI- ‘industrial’ version features smaller rear drive wheels and casters on the front – steer – axle, to allow absolute zero degree turning etc. It is however very much a smooth floor machine, although it still features automatic pothole protection and 25 percent gradeability.

Both models offer a full 25 percent gradeability

Most buyers will probably plump for the more traditional JCPT0607DCS, both models have been third party tested and approved as compliant with to the latest EN280 standard and CE certification as well as Ansi standards. They are expected to go into full production at the end of the year, the pre-production machines have been built on the assembly line and are now undergoing final testing and evaluation.

Both models have a 600mm deck extension

Both models offer a maximum working height of 5.9 metres, with a platform capacity of 240kg. The main 1.3 metre by 700mm platform extends to 1.89 metres with the 600mm deck extension out. The unit has an overall stowed length of 1.44 metres, with the entrance ladder installed – 1.29 with it removed. The S weighs 880kg and the I - 860kg, both models have a CE indoor and outdoor rating, although the S is limited to 5.6 metres outdoors, while the I is limited to 4.5 metres when working outside.

Drive for both comes from 400Kw drive motors – rear wheel on the I and front steer axle mounted on the S - with 90 degree crank angle steering. Both feature a full 25 percent gradeability and DC wheel mounted electric drive motors for improved battery life.

Standard equipment includes an intelligent ECU control system, with integrated level sensor, button switch, key switch, emergency stop switch, buzzer, hour meter and touch screen. A potentiometer replaces exposed switches, such as upper and lower limit switches, anti-crush point switch and angle sensor in order to help improve reliability and simplify maintenance.

Vertikal Comment

Dingli’s small electric scissor lift models have been gaining a positive reputation over the past year or two, these latest models look as though they may take this up another notch making them serious alternatives to products from the major scissor lift producers. However this specific part of the market is currently dominated by steel mast type products with strong models from Snorkel, JLG, Haulotte and Skyjack. The main scissor lift competition is Custom Equipment’s Hybrid range.

Whether Dingli can win business away from these models remains to be seen, what is more likely is that they will expand this sector of the end market which is still widely covered by 19ft scissor lifts at the top end and push around or sub micro self-propelled lifts such as those offered by Power Towers and Custom Equipment.

The range of powered access products available for working heights of between three and five metres has ballooned in recent years. However the vast majority of work at this height is still carried out from the steps of a ladder or small scaffold so plenty of room for expansion and new products like this.

We will look at these two new models in more depth for the next Cranes & Access magazine.
