New record for Tadano
Tadano has issued its half year results, showing revenues up six percent to ¥104.2 billion ($849 million) while pre-tax profits increased 15.3 percent to ¥15.9 billion ($130 million) another record.
The company benefited from high utilisation rates in the Japanese market while demand overseas was weaker mainly in North, Central and South America, offset by increases in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
Japanese sales totalled ¥50,878 billion ($414.6 million) up 9.5 percent on the same period last year, thanks said the company to its efforts to focus on increasing sales of larger products sales outside of Japan increased 3.2 percent to ¥53,310 billion ($434 million).
Mobile crane sales for the six months totalled ¥71.3 billion ($384million) up 8.6 percent on last year, loader crane sales fell three percent to ¥9.96 billion ($81million) and aerial lift sales jumped 14.1% to ¥8.8 billion ($71.7million). Other revenues fell 2.6 percent to ¥14.1 billion ($114.9 million).
Vertikal Comment
This is an excellent set of numbers from Tadano and a strong indication of the steady progress the company has made as it broadens its product line and makes progress breaking into new customers. It is particularly impressive given the latest quarterly results from some of its main competitors, although it must be remembered that one of the main reasons for this is its dominance of the Japanese market, which is especially buoyant at the moment for a variety of reasons.
That said this an excellent result in the current market
