IMC buys 30 cranes from Prangl
German used equipment sales company IMC (International Mobile Cranes) has purchased 30 used cranes from Austrian based rental company Prangl in a deal said to be worth around €5 million.
The deal left Prangl free to hold open negotiations with the four big crane companies to source 40 new All Terrain and crawler cranes, ranging from 40 to 1,000 tonnes.
Schermbeck based IMC has already picked up 20 of the 30 cranes, and resold most of them to overseas buyers. The company has been trading in used mobile cranes for the past 15 years, and prefers larger packages of cranes such as this one.

Hans Richter of IMC said: "An increasing number of crane companies are preferring to sell their older cranes rather than trade them in with manufacturers. This then gives them – and the crane manufacturers - a cleaner hand to negotiate the best terms and conditions for the new machines, it also allows for a much simpler and open deal between the two parties ".
