Nine Multitel spiders for Facelift

UK rental company Facelift has taken delivery of nine new Multitel Spider lifts, substantially boosting its tracked/spider lift fleet.

The nine units include four 17 metre SMX 170s, two 22 metre SMX 225, two 25 metre SMX 250 and one of the new 30 metre SMX 300. The units join a selection of Niftylift Trax machines and the more specialist TCA Falcons. These new units are the first narrow style compact spider lift models in the fleet. The new 30 offers 270kg of platform capacity and up to 14.7 metres of outreach with 180kg.

The Multitel units were chosen for their light weight – they all use dual telescopic aluminium booms - and versatility. Both the SMX 170 and SMX 225 weigh less than 2,500kg and as such are light enough to be towed on a trailer behind a 4x4 or van. All units are powered by a Kubota three cylinder water cooled diesel for outdoor work and an AC electric motor for indoor.

Facelift's new Multitel tracked spider lifts
