52m Falcon for Shanghai mall

Danish spider lift manufacturer TCA Lift has delivered a new 52 metre Falcon spider lift to Shanghai MixC Mall in China.

The Falcon FS520C will be used in the MixC Mall for cleaning and maintenance work, both inside and out. The mall covers over 530,000 square metres and includes a high-end 240,000 square metre shopping mall, 11 office buildings, a Metro Museum and a sky garden. While a brand new hotel is due to be built alongside.

The Falcon FS520C in use at the MixC Mall

The FS520C offers up to 17 metres of outreach, 200kg platform capacity and the two section telescopic jib has 200 degrees of articulation. It is also equipped with the new Falcon ‘Service Tool’ which allows remote monitoring of the lift, including troubleshooting and extracting full operating history.

TCA Lift sales manager Brian Falck Schmidt said: "The primary job of the Falcon Spider is cleaning and maintenance of the centre, its 52 metre working height, allows it to reach every corner of the mall and at the same time it is very narrow and able to enter or exit through a normal door opening, and can therefore be easily hidden from view when not in use. Its low ground bearing pressure and ability to cross areas with delicate flooring was also a factor”.
