Crane man in canoe challenge
Daniel Ezzatvar, marketing manager for GGR – the UK based European master distributor for Unic spider cranes - is to attempt a 26 mile, seven hour canoe challenge in aid of charity. Ezzatvar, 30, and family friend, Rob Heyes, 29, hope to raise funds for Age UK.
Setting out this weekend at 8:30 from Salwick Wharf in Preston, the two will paddle the 26 miles up the Lancaster Canal to the Water Witch pub for a well earned refreshment.

Ezzatvar, who joined GGR in June last year is no stranger to strenuous fundraising, having previously cycled from Manchester to Blackpool in aid of the British Heart Foundation.
He said: “I’ve done some canoe training but nothing like this, and because of the time of year the weather will also play a big part. I am expecting to have fairly sore arms on Sunday morning, however, it is all for a very good cause and a number of my colleagues at GGR have already given generously.”
GGR chief executive Graeme Riley said: “It sounds like a heck of a challenge, I just hope he will have recovered enough to be in work on Monday.”
Update:
The duo finished the 26 mile canoe challenge in fourth place out of 30 participants with an impressive time of seven and a half hours.
