The new 135 tonne CKE1350G has gone straight to work on the Mersey gateway
The new crane went straight to work on the Mersey gateway project, a new £431 million 1,100 metre-long toll road bridge that stretches across the river Mersey and the Manchester ship canal in North West England.
Anthony Quinn, managing director at Q Crane & Plant Hire, said: “The CKE 1350G is working with nine of our other crawler cranes performing various lifting operations on the project. The majority of our lattice boom crawler cranes are Kobelco. The new G Series is a good machine that allows us to supply customers throughout the UK, where demand for 100 tonne capacity cranes and above is high at the moment, while at the same time making bigger inroads into the all-important London market.”
