The first of the new trucks has already been delivered to Star’s Kent depot, near Sevenoaks. The second is due to be delivered to the company’s Luton depot within the coming weeks. The additions take Star’s truck fleet to eight vehicles, all of which are FORS and Crossrail compliant. The new trucks are intended to help with the company’s next-day delivery guarantee.
Managing director Steve Simmons said: “We are experiencing strong demand for our services, and our next-day delivery guarantee is proving popular with customers, so now is the right time to ensure we continue to deliver on our service promise. The delivery trucks are ideal for our growing range of larger platforms, which now includes the 28 metre Nifty HR28 Hybrid Rough Terrain boom. We can now also carry more machines on a single load to improve efficiency.”
