Second LTM 1500-8.1 for King

UK crane rental company King Lifting has taken delivery of its second new 500 tonne Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1.

The eight-axle crane has a seven section 84 metre main boom plus Y Guy system, 91 metre luffing jib and a 56 metre fixed jib. The maximum system height is 142 metres with 108 metres radius, with 165 tonnes of maximum counterweight. The new crane is the first 500 tonne Liebherr in the UK powered by an EU stage IV and EPA tier 4 compliant engine.

King Lifting's eight-axle 500 tonne LTM 1500-8.1

The new crane went straight to work in Southern England constructing a new wind turbine, before travelling into central London to erect a tower crane. King is due to take delivery of a new 750 tonne LTM 1750-9.1 in May.

Tristan King, commercial director of King Lifting, said: “Since taking delivery of our first LTM1500-8.1 we have seen great demand for it. We are looking forward to taking delivery of our new LTM1750-9.1 in May to further enhance our position in the heavy crane rental sector.”
