More Liebherrs for Schuch

German crane specialist Schuch has added four new Liebherr All Terrain cranes, replacing three older units.

The new models include one of the new 50 tonne LTC 1050-3.1 compact city type cranes, a three axle 50 tonne LTM 1050-3.1 and two four axle 70 tonne LTM 1070-4.2s.

A third generation of the Schuch family - brothers Tim and Christopher Schuch - now manages the company. The two say that they chose the LTC 1050-3.1 in order to target more internal lifting work.

"Although we have an alternative machine, the LTC 1050-3.1 is the most powerful compact crane in the three axle class,” said Tim Schuch. “It can telescope its boom with a fairly large load and when space gets very tight you can even remove the front storage box."

Two new Liebherr LTM1070-4.2 at the hand over

"Our aim is to be able to provide our customers with a modern fleet. We are delighted with Liebherr's new technology. VarioBase outrigger set up enables us to work more effectively, for example saving on ballast transport”.

Each of the brothers is responsible for a separate part of the group, which now operates from 10 locations between Saarbrücken in the west, Fulda in the north and Karlsruhe in the south. The divisions include crane rental, heavy transport and machinery moving.

Christopher manages Krandienst Schuch which covers the northern territory including the Rhine-Main conurbation, whilst Tim runs Kran und Transport Schuch from Wörth in the southern territory which extends down to the region around Stuttgart.

The livery and the logo on the cranes are the same, only the company names on them show which part of the group they belong to. Between them they run a fleet of 60 All Terrain cranes, including units from Liebherr, Terex, Grove and Tadano, with capacities of between 30 and 1,200 tonnes. Other cranes include crawlers and large loader cranes.
