Ruthmann moves into India

Truck mounted platform manufacturer Ruthmann has appointed MT&T as its distributor in India.

Headquartered in Chennai, MT&T distributes a wide range of work at height equipment from ladders to fire rescue platforms, telehandlers and spider lifts from manufacturer's such as Teupen, Magni, Dingli and Omme.

MT&T managing director Rakesh Modi said: "The group was founded in 1974 and was missing a line of truck mounted platforms, so we are proud to represent Ruthmann in India. The Indian market requires premium products and Ruthmann is well-known for its quality, uncompromising safety and top performance specifications. Our goal is to provide our existing business contacts an extended product portfolio and develop new customer contacts.”

MT&T has various locations throughout India with 70 sales and 40 service staff and will purchase a number of Ruthmann platforms for demonstration purposes as well as to exhibit at Bauma/Conexpo in December.

Ruthmann sales director Uwe Strotmann added: “We were looking for a professional, reliable partner in India and did not make our decision in an ad hoc way. Prior to the decision, we carried out extensive market research and visited various potential partners in India. Now we are looking forward to welcoming the MT&T as our sales and service partner.
