Baldwins take UK’s first GMK5250L

UK based rental company Baldwin Crane Hire has purchased the first two 250 tonne Grove GMK5250L All Terrain cranes to arrive in the UK.

The new cranes feature 70 metre seven section main booms, and 37 metre luffing bi-fold swingaway extensions. The single engine GMK5250L is fitted with a VIAB turbo clutch and integrated retarder, in order to eliminate both fluid overheating and clutch burning. The machines have gone straight to work and will be used on construction and other projects across the UK, including the erection of tower cranes in London.

The first Grove GMK5250L to arrive in the UK

David Nash, small cranes director at Baldwins said: “We are delighted to be in possession of the UK’s first Grove GMK5250L cranes. One of the main reasons we purchased this crane was because it offers one of the longest booms in its class and is easy to manoeuvre, making it well-suited to work on a variety of job sites. They are an excellent addition to our fleet and we look forward to using them to provide a more efficient solution for our customers.”
