Three Katos for City
UK crane rental company City Lifting has added three new Kato city type Rough Terrain cranes to its fleet.
The new cranes - purchased through European distributor Rivertek -include two units of the new 13 tonne CR130Ri and one 35 tonne CR350Ri.
The 35 tonner features a 32.5 metre six section boom plus a three section hydraulically telescopic jib that extends from 6.5 to 14 metres and can offset by up to 60 degrees. Road speed is just over 30mph/49kph and the unit has a Gross Vehicle Weight of 28 tonnes. Outrigger beam extension sensors allow multiple set up options and automatically sense the position selected. In the cab a new colour touch screen Safe Load Indicator is equipped with working range limiting functions. The new cranes join a fleet of over 60 mobile cranes and 110 tower cranes.

Trevor Jepson of City Lifting said: “We are pleased to add the famous Kato brand to our fleet and we believe these new cranes will offer our customers many unique capabilities not available from other manufacturers. The short tail swing concept on these cranes is very impressive and allows us to operate these cranes in very restricted areas. The easy to install fly jibs which can be installed without the use of any tools is a very welcome feature from our point of view. We believe these cranes will be busy within our fleet.”
Colin Cleary of Kato distributor Rivertek Services added: “We are delighted to work with Trevor and the team at City Lifting. We are sure they will be very impressed with these new Kato cranes which are world famous for their quality, reliability and resale value.”
Rivertek will display all of the new Kato cranes at Vertikal Days next week.
