Another Terex for Stoddart

Scottish rental company Stoddart Crane Hire has taken delivery of a new 100 tonne Terex AC 100/4L All Terrain crane.

The new four axle crane features a 59.4 metre main boom, plus a 10 to 19 metre bi-fold swingaway extension - which can offset by up to 40 degrees -giving a maximum tip height of 74 metres. Mounted on a 2.55 metre wide chassis, it can travel with up to 19.3 tonnes of counterweight on board in the UK. The AC 100/4L joins an existing fleet of five to 180 tonne cranes and will operate across the north of Scotland.

Stoddart founder and owner David Stoddart said: “The AC 100/4L is the ideal crane for this part of the world. The roads are narrow and sites are often too difficult to access. A truly compact crane, it gives us the flexibility and manoeuvrability we need. It’s boom length is also a big advantage, plus the fact we have always enjoyed an excellent working relationship with Terex over the years. This is the fourth Terex machine we have purchased.”

Julian Dyer of Terex added: “The Terex AC 100/4L and Stoddart Crane Hire are a perfect fit. The crane delivers everything that the company needs to operate successfully and effectively in often demanding and space restricted locations.”

Based in Muir of Ord in the Scottish Highlands, family-run Stoddart has provided crane hire since 2004. Its fleet consists of Tadano, Terex, Demag, Coles, Grove and PPM machines.
