New Liebherr for McGovern

UK rental company McGovern Contract Lifting & Crane Hire has purchased its first new Liebherr, an LTM 1040-2.1 All Terrain crane.

Derbyshire-based McGovern ordered the two axle 40 tonne crane in March and specified it with Liebherr's Variobase outrigger set up system, it features a 35 metre main boom, and can handle 7.4 tonnes when fully extended and 1.1 tonnes at its maximum radius of 31 metres.

McGovern's new LTM 1040-2.1

Kieran McGovern contract lifting manager said: “After taking a look at our fleet we identified a gap between our city range cranes and the 60 tonne capacity cranes. We noticed that 40 tonne capacity cranes were becoming increasingly popular with our customer base so we took the decision to invest in that area. For us the LTM 1040-2.1 ticked the most boxes in terms of our customers’ requirements and its outstanding capacities on such compact dimensions was a key selling point. The Variobase system is a great advantage, the crane is currently working on a project in Nottingham city centre where we would not have been able to service the requirements of our customer without Variobase."
