24 Groves for Orascom

Egyptian contractor Orascom Construction has added 24 new Grove Rough Terrain cranes to its fleet.

The new cranes include 10 units of the 50 tonne Grove RT650E, six 60 tonne RT765E-2, six 80 tonne RT890E and two 120 tonne RT9130E-2s. Most of the cranes are destined for work at power plants and oil refineries.

One of six Grove RT890E's for Orascom

Orascom is a sister company of Orascom Trading, the Grove distributor in Egypt. The deal was concluded at the end of 2015, for shipment in the first half of this year.

Orascom’s equipment director Mamdouh Fanny said: “We work to tight schedules on many different projects so we needed the best cranes on the market. The main reason we selected these cranes was because they are designed to handle the tough desert conditions found on job sites and provide excellent maneuverability when working in confined spaces.”
