Hewden invests in Ground-Guards

UK rental company Hewden has purchased £500,000 worth of MultiTrack Trackway mats from Ground-Guards.

The mats - made from a lightweight HDPE polymer plastic - are an alternative to traditional aluminium panels and designed for laying down portable access roads or providing ground protection. It is claimed that the 100 percent recycled plastic mats can support vehicles up to 120 tonnes in weight.

The mats measure 2.4 x 1.2 metres and weigh 39kg each, so can be handled by two people. The reversible design provides both a vehicle tread as well as an anti-slip pedestrian surface.

Hewden product manager Danny Williams said: “This is a significant investment from Hewden and is a great example of how we are supporting our customers across the events, construction, industrial and infrastructure sectors with a non-mechanical plant product range that complements our larger core equipment. They will be available from most depots across the UK on a short or long-term hire basis.”
