New director for Star Platforms
UK rental company Star Platforms has promoted Ian Mitchell to the role of operations director.
Mitchell began his career in 1999 erecting mobile scaffold towers at Instant Zip-Up before moving to Panther, staying with the company when it was acquired by Nationwide Platforms where he became regional transport manager. He joined Star Platforms a year ago and has now been promoted from his previous role as operations manager.

Managing director Steve Simmons said: “Ian has a wealth of experience gained through his previous roles and Star has benefitted massively from his involvement this past year, including working hard to achieve FORS Silver accreditation. Ian holds a CPC in transport management and whilst initially focusing on transport, H&S and other areas of compliance, his involvement and influence within the business continues to grow and it was only right to officially promote him to a member of our board.”
Mitchell added: “I jumped at the opportunity to re-join many of my former colleagues and the management team at Star Platforms last year and it has been very exciting to be a part of such a growing business, and one that always has the customer at the forefront of everything we do.”
Star Platforms was established in 2014 and now has three depots in Bedfordshire, Kent and Leicestershire with a combined fleet of 660 machines. It is also a member of The Access Alliance.
