New recycling crane from Hiab
Hiab will launch its new Jonsered 1500RZ, the company's latest innovation in recycling cranes, in Lyon, France this week.
The crane has a maximum load moment of 13.8 tonne/metres, and an outreach of over nine metres. It is designed for scrap metal handling and heavy duty recycling.
Safety features include Variable Stability Limit (VSL), which automatically senses how far the stabiliser legs are extended and detects if they are firmly on the ground before setting the appropriate load curve, and setting the over load protection system, the Operator Protection System which creates a ‘virtual protection cage’ to protect the operator. The machine also has a new variable pump which is said to offer substantial fuel savings in this type of application.

Senior manager forestry cranes Toni Ahvenlampi added: "The new 1500RZ is designed for total flexibility in operation. The customer can adapt it according to the business needs and choose between top seat, side-mounted top seat or stand-up platform with radio control. To ensure that the crane is well protected in harsh environments, it is painted with the advanced nDurance surface protection system."
