Big Demags for Turkey

Turkish crane rental company Coskun Vinç has purchased two Demag All Terrain cranes, a 220 tonne AC 220-5 and a 500 tonne AC 500-8, which will be its new flagship crane - currently a 300 tonne Grove GMK 6300.

The five axle AC 220-5 has an eight section 78 metre main boom plus a 21 metre bi-fold swingaway extension to achieve a maximum tip height of 102 metres. The eight axle AC 500-8 has a 56 metre main boom and when combined with its 90 metre luffing jib provides a maximum tip height of 146 metres.

Delivery of the new cranes is scheduled for the new year, through the local Terex Cranes distributor DAS Otomotiv. Coskun Vinç is based in Istanbul and runs an extensive fleet of mobile cranes, aerial work platforms and telehanadlers. The crane fleet runs from Altec and Manitex top end booms trucks, through large articulated cranes to a wide range of All Terrains running from 40 to 300 tonnes. From Terex, Liebherr and Grove.

Coskun Vinç owner Sedat Coskun said: “We were pleased when Terex brought back the Demag brand earlier this year. Demag products have been an important part of our success over the past 32 years, and we are excited to have the opportunity to add two new Demag All Terrain cranes to our fleet. We know they will perform well in the type of work we do for our customers, and the cranes' IC-1 Plus Control System will be a huge benefit on high capacity lifts. Our business partnership with Terex Cranes and DAS is important to us. We have a long trustworthy relationship with their teams. They have helped us grow our business and are responsive to our needs.”

Terex Cranes’ president Steve Filipov said: “Manufacturing quality products that meet the everyday demands of the customer while delivering a high return on investment is a top priority.”
