New Liebherr for Horizon
Scotland-based Horizon Reinforcing & Crane Hire has taken delivery of the UK's first 250 tonne Liebherr LTM 1250-5.1 All Terrain Crane.
The five axle crane has a 60 metre main boom and a swingaway lattice insert combination that extends up to 50 metres, all of which can be offset by up to 45 degrees. It has a maximum working radius of 96 metres and can lift its full capacity at a three metre radius or take 2.5 tonnes to 108 metres with its 50 metre jib. The crane also features Liebherr’s Variobase outrigger set-up and the new VarioBallast system which allows a quick easy shift between a 5.58 metres ballast radius and a more compact 4.78 metres.

Managing director of Horizon Steven Dougall said: “We’re excited to take delivery of the UK’s first LTM 1250-5.1 and are looking forward to seeing our clients put the very strong lifting duties of this crane to use in the wide range of operations that its variable counterweight tailswing will make possible. It also has the benefit of VarioBase so will come into its own where space is restricted making it a very useful addition to our fleet.”
The new LTM 1250-5.1 is Horizon’s second new Liebherr machine and will join the Falkirk-based company’s existing fleet of 10 cranes.
